This first week of summer vacation has been very, very rewarding. We spent the first day (last Saturday with Tarah, Kember, and Caden in Provo where we met them at the mall for lunch and then went to a park to visit while the kids played on the playground. While there, we learned a SURPRISE that Dan & Tarah are expecting the arrival of our 5th grandchild (a boy) in October. We are so very happy and pleased for them. #4 is due to Jed and Nanci in 3 weeks and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby although its gender is going to be a SURPRISE. They dreamed it is a girl and I dreamed last night that it was a boy. So, it is either a girl or a boy... we have narrowed it down to that at least!
All this week has been dedicated to moving the Mountain Ranch cattle and the cattle drive went well with NO SURPRISES. We were very thankful for the smooth transition the cattle made because we anticipated some problems with a lot of the cattle being new to the trail, but they followed along and caused no problems. They were very glad to finally get to their destination.
The weather here this week has been more normal and not so SURPRISING as the rest of our spring has gone. We have our garden and flowers all planted and are hoping for normal growing weather for the crops and garden. There is still quite a bit of snow to melt in the mountains and we count our blessings every day for the water for our dry desert land. Everything here is green and beautiful right now.
Gas prices right now are SURPRISING everyone. If you miss a week from filling up at the station, the price change will astound you. We only wish we could attach a fuel surcharge to the price of our cattle. But, it just doesn't work that way for our business. I know everyone is probably feeling the crunch right now and it will be okay. We are being blessed in so many other ways.
