Long Silence

I have kindof fallen off of the blog scene for a while. But this morning after reading my scriptures I was day dreaming about all of the wonderful experiences and fun times I have had this summer. I can't believe we are so blessed. Our five wonderful, healthy, grandchildren bring us so much joy watching them grow up and even though they live too far away to see them real often we have had them around quite a bit this summer.
Our new Temple President (Pres. Pinegar) has blessed our lives this summer with the opportunity to join him in the temple and meet with the temple presidency for dinner in the temple. There is no where that food tastes better than in the temple! We also were able to attend a fireside with Julia Beck the General Relief Soc. Pres. Next month we will attend another devotional in the temple with Elder Bednar. These are wonderful experiences where my testimony is strengthened. It will also be another Stake Conference.
We had a blast on our Christensen Family reunion. I love anyplace where I can hike and see God's beautiful creations and this was no exception. The Boulder is a beautiful mountain and then contrast that with Capital Reef and all the beauties of slick rock country.
Today I picked and bottled cherries off my tree. It took me all morning, and many will not understand why I spend time doing something that produces such small results.....but, that is just me. I love to fill my shelves with food and especially with food I have grown myself. Don't ask me why? Maybe I was born in the wrong century? My raspberries are loaded this year and I am looking forward to my mornings in the raspberry patch.
I love having the freedom to go with Scott and help him haul hay or move cattle or just ride along side of him. We enjoy doing things together and he is my best friend. There is no one I would rather be with and I never get tired of being with him.
Oh well, boring post. But at least I did write something.

Wow!! That's a cool post. I forgot about all the fun things we have done this summer and just think, we've got much more summer to enjoy.

I think you and Dad are awesome! I really appreciate that you describe dad as your best friend. Tarah and I have been hit by shocker after shocker this month of people we know that have made poor choices that have ended in divorce and heartache. We are so grateful that you and dad have been such good examples of the success of enduring relationships! Love Ya!
