Highlights

It has been a month since I last posted and since this is now my journal that is way too long and water has gone under this old bridge. Since so much has happened I will hit all the highlights.

1. NSHS took state in FOOTBALL! That is the first time in history and I am so old that I have been around for all of that history. Scott played in the very first football game that NSHS played back in 1971. It is a great accomplishment and we are proud of our team!

2. We hosted dinner for Elder Jones and Brother Macaffee in our home a couple of weeks ago. I remember when my parents did that for General Authorities...in fact, one time Pres. Monson came for dinner in our home in Redmond when I was just a teen-ager. It was a privilege to have them come to our home and to find out in conversation they are just like us....just trying to do their best to live the Gospel and love their families.

3. It seems we are having many dinners lately, but we also met with the Manti Temple Presidency for dinner in the temple. WOW! That food and the company seemed extra Celestial! Because of their pleas and wishes I am looking at temple attendance and those who serve there through a whole new light. There are over 850 temple workers at the Manti Temple who just give of their time to serve in the temple.

4. I got my visiting teaching done this month before the last day! That is a momentous occasion. It would be good if I noted how good that feels and tried to do that every month.

5. This past month I have read..."20,000 Leagues Under the Sea","Les Miserables", "Twelfth Night" and "Baree, the Wolf Dog". (The Playaways in the library are wonderful! I can read these books while I drive, exercise, and do housework) At the present, I am reading Barack Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope" to see just what our next President is all about. So far, I am impressed. I hope he is "for real".

That's not very many highlights for a whole month of time...but, the best times are yet to come. We are so looking forward to Jed, Nanc, Jacob, and Kade coming for Thanksgiving. Wa hoo!

Yea! Another post! I loved the highlights, but I am disappointed that you left out your birthday. Yes, you are another year older (that's what you told me on the phone), but I think it's momentous and worth remembering at any rate! I'm very proud of you about your visiting teaching though. That is a great accomplishment, and something we should all try to emulate! Have a great thanksgiving (and write a post about it...with pictures of the fam)
