Anyway, back to the retirement idea. In 9 years Kember will be 13, Jacob 12...etc and they will just be getting involved in things and hope we will be more free to see them participate in whatever things they choose to. That sounds great to me to just go everywhere our grandkids are doing things. We could also go on a mission! Who knows what will happen in the next 9 years? We don't, but I love to make plans and have a target to shoot for.

Retirement?
I just finished calculating what year I can retire and what my retirement pension could be and I think I can retire in 9 years (2019). It gives me a target to work towards and I think I can handle that. I have put in 13 years in the library and 9 more doesn't seem that long really. I do love my job most days. I really love to get to know the kids. This quarter I have one TA who is a super senior, but a really nice kid....just doesn't fit in socially too well. I have dealt with him a lot throughout his high school years. Mostly with his problems with the rules. But I am trying to focus on his strengths and we are doing fine so far. I really want him to leave high school thinking he is okay and that he can do whatever he puts his mind to. I also have 6 kids who take online high school classes in the library during the day (in addition to the classes that schedule the library to do research, testing, or checking out books). I get really attached to those kids as we work together every day all year long. I really think the part of my job that I love the most is working with and helping the kids. It really fulfills a need in me to see them succeed.
