Family Home Evening/Date Night

We have been in a rut lately with our Family Home Evenings and Dates. It seems that we have just called work projects FHE and dates and so we have spent most of these events working on things (together) at the ranch. So...last week we decided to take turns planning these activities. Last week was my turn and it was really fun to plan a night to just talk about us. We have been reading the 5 love languages all summer long and were at the end of the book where you take a test to see what language you speak. We both took the evaluation and to our surprise we are really close in speaking the same languages. It was really not Scott's kind of thing but he went along with it. Then Friday I again got to plan our datenight. We went to Richfield to the golf course and hit a bucket of balls and then putted around on the putting green (again I could tell he was just trying to have a good time because he knew I loved it). We went to Wendy's (Scott had some input there), and grocery shopping then home. So it was Scott's turn this week. Last night we rode the 4 wheeler out on the desert to check the ponds. They were all full!!! And the desert was like a new world because of all of the rain this summer. I have never seen it look so beautiful. I don't think we need to go to Hawaii when we have such beautiful sites right here where we live. He's off the hook on Friday because some friends just called and invited us to their cabin for a party. Yippee!

I love that you still focus on each other and dating. Dan and I are trying to do better at the dating thing, so keep the ideas coming! Sounds like good times! Hehehe, as a side note, the kids know they get to go play at someones house when we go on a date, so just today they were telling me that we needed to go on another date so they could go to a friends house. How cute...my kids are kicking me out to go on a date with my husband!

That does make date night something to look forward to even more and little mysterious, just loke old times before marriage. Yes, there is beauty all around no matter where you are, but Hawaii is still worth it!
